Spring Cleaning

image

Spring is here and summer is just around the corner!!!

The weather is getting nice, inviting you outdoors!!

But something or someone reminds you it is also the season for “spring cleaning”!!

Whoever thought of “spring cleaning” was not the brightest flower in the bouquet.

Why not do a “winter clear out” or “fall freshen up”, when the weather is cold and you DONT want to be outside?

But no.

Here we are dealing with the expectation that it is spring, therefore, we must be cleaning.

Ugh.

Well, in order to help you along your way, and get you out doors as quickly as possible I’ve compiled a quick list of Spring Cleaning tips.

1.) Make a list: Don’t worry about the order, you can rewrite and order later. Just write down everything you want to be cleaned, fixed, and organized.

2.) Pick a starting point: 1 room or task, finish completely so you can check it off your list. There is something great about checking off an item from your list. It gives you a real sense of accomplishment (or at least it does me:).

3.) If you don’t use it rehome it: If you forgot you ever owned it, odds are you don’t need it anymore. Find a local charity to donate items to, or do a yard sale! Clear out the clutter and simplify your space!

4.) Clean your carpets: With or without pets, carpets suffer wear and tear, odors and stains. You can choose to rent a carpet shampooer or pay a company to come it and clean them for you. Give your floors a new lease on life, clean your carpets!

5.) Freshen up your garden beds: Spring cleaning doesn’t need to be all inside chores! Go outside!! Clear out your garden beds. Plant some bright new flowers. Throw down some grass seed. Clean out your gutters!
Enjoy the sunshine and ever warming weather!

Gorgeous views from this flat 5 acre parcel that has over 300 fruit trees. This is a 5 acre parcel, however, there will be a 15′ easement for the county which would only be used if the road is widened. Once there is an agreed upon purchase and sale-seller will put in a new well – for irrigation – that would be shared by the current owner of the adjacent 5 acre parcel. Also-seller will pay to have the property surveyed once all terms are agreed upon and sale is pending. Then buyer will be required to hook up to city water for domestic use which runs adjacent to the property. There are producing peach and cherry trees. If in the future – seller decides to sell adjacent 5 acre parcel with houses and shop, buyer of this land will have first option to purchase after family members.

Monday Madness

Monday morning got you down?

This is MADNESS!!

Here is the Truth:

The Bible declares you can do all things through Christ, that you are more than a conqueror. God affirms he will supply all your needs according to his limitless resources. Remember what’s true and do not start second-guessing what God has called you to accomplish.
Keep your eyes on Jesus. Eyes up… one foot in front of the other.

~Brian Houstin~

No matter your past, current life situation, or future plans/goals, you are MORE than a conqueror in Christ. And that is not madness that is the TRUTH.

Need further encouragement, prayer, or help finding the perfect fit home? I hope you will follow me on Facebook and Twitter! Feel free to private message, email, or text me with all your real estate needs!

Midweek Encouragement

Wednesday is the halfway mark of yet another week!

Whether your week started off with a bang or a dive, good, bad or ugly, each new morning brings the hope of a new beginning and fresh opportunities.

If you need to press the restart button, DO IT RIGHT NOW! There may be no, “do overs”, in life but there is an every morning chance to move forward.

Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever. Psalms 23:6 NLT

Curb Appeal Wins

When prepping to sell a home, one of the common concerns is “curb appeal”. Curb Appeal is the concept that a house can be appealing and inspire buyers to ooh-and-aah, just merely driving by.  Because we want your home to be appealing to buyers, both inside and out, I have constructed a list of ten do-it-yourself “Curb Appeal Wins”.

1.) Take care of “eyesores”: I’m not talking about ones found on your face (though if you have those you should take care of them too!). Eyesores are anything on your house, or in your yard, that would be unappealing to an otherwise interested buyer. Common culprits are: electrical boxes, pipes, wires, air conditioners, hoses, trash bins, random clutter from yard projects or kids toys.

2.) Manicure lawn and flower beds: This will require mowing and weeding. Not everyone’s favorite activity I know, but the results do wonders. In the spring, summer and early fall, purchasing and planting a few bright annual flowers can make your yard pop without breaking the bank! Just make sure you remember to water!

3.) Pretty up your windows: Whether that means adding flower boxes, shutters, freshening up the trim, or all the above. Any of these choices are guaranteed to draw the buyer’s eye.

4.) Dazzle your door: You can do this by adding trim, sanding and painting or staining, or replacing if needed. Even something as small as installing a new door-nob and lock can make a dull door shine. If you have a screen door with your front door it is best to be a nice one. If the screen is torn or rusty it’s better to remove it and have no screen than leave it and have the entrance to your house be a dingy one.

5.) Fix up your mail box: Much like your door, your mail box is on the greeting front-lines. Whether a buyer is driving by or pulling in for a showing, they will pass and see your mailbox. You may enjoy your giant bass themed letter catcher, but the your prospective buyer may not. Make that first impression a good one.

6.) Visible, clean house numbers: Many people look up house listings online and may choose to drive by on their own, viewing the neighborhood and catching a glimpse of your house from their car. If you do not have a clearly visible house number buyers may miss your house altogether. Make sure your numbers are big, clean, and installed in a spot visible from the road.

7.) Trim your trees and shrubs: Buyer are looking to buy a house not a jungle, don’t let the greenery upstage your beautiful house.

8.) Fix the fence: If you have a fence of any kind make sure its in good repair. Once again this will be one of the first things a buyers sees, along with anything else in your front yard. If you don’t have a fence they can be an aesthetically pleasing asset. There are a number of easily installed picket fences that, if well kept, can spruce up a yard of any size and shape.

9.) Sweep off your roof: Depending on where you live moss can be a relentless problem. Just for roof maintenance alone you need to keep the green growth away. The same goes for pine needles. Be very careful when doing this, or better yet hire a professional! Clean roofs are preferred, but SAFETY FIRST!!

10.) Clean concrete and walkways: Pressure wash, sweep, patch, lay fresh bark or gravel, whatever it takes to freshen it up.

First impressions can make or break the sale of a home. May yours be one that leaves buyers oohing-and-aahing!

Please give me a call if you have any questions at all! I would LOVE to be YOUR agent!! (509)630-0235 or email debbiechase@homesinwenatchee.com.

Top 5 DIY Home Upgrades

Selling a home is all about presenting and highlighting its best qualities. Minor and major upgrades can and will largely influences buyers’ interest. The following is a short list of manageable “do-it-yourself” upgrade ideas.

1.) Kitchen and Bath:

For many people just the thought of updating these areas of a home causes major anxiety. There are a few stress free tips and tricks you can do to bring a little light and life back into the room. My first suggestion is to install new faucets. Faucets that are stained and outdated can make a sink and the surrounding counter top look dingy, but new faucets bring a new fresh look.

Cabinetry updates can also do wonders. Fresh paint, sanding and stain, new nobs or handles, and molding are all manageable projects that yield great results!

2.) Paint:

A proper paint job can brighten a room, or the outside of a home, to perfection. Do your research or hire a professional, this is one job you don’t want to botch.

3.) Roof:

Buyers want a home that has been well maintained inside and out, this includes the roof. Something as simple as sweeping off any moss and cleaning the gutters can make a huge difference. Depending on the age and materials used for your roof, you may need to replace it. You can call a local, recommended professional on this matter if needed.

4.) Flooring:

Replacing old, shabby carpet with hard wood, tile, or high quality vinyl flooring, not only spruces up the place, but is also more sanitary, and has been known to increase home value.

5.) Yard:

As mentioned in my previous post “Curb Appeal Wins”, a well manicured lawn, free of clutter can be key to an expedient sale.

Note: Keep in mind your buyer with any and all changes you make. Bold colors and designs are not favored by all; it is best to pick classic, clean, or neutral colors (whites, tans, grays, ect.). Before starting any major projects (for example: plumbing or roofing) make sure you consult a professional.

“THAT” Agent

We have all met one. “THAT” Real Estate Agent. “THAT” Agent seems nice, courteous, polite, and sociable. You sit down, tell “THAT” Agent what you are looking for, and what price you can afford to buy and sell at. “THAT” Agent seems to be listening. “THAT” Agent seems to be organized. But then the showings begin. The houses you visit do NOT match what you described and the price range is all over the place. And your current home, has it even been listed yet? You begin to wonder if “THAT” Agent misunderstood.

You try to call later to clear up any confusion and redirect the search for your new home, but “THAT” Agent doesn’t answer their phone! Emails aren’t getting through either! You’re pulling your hair out wondering where you went wrong!

We have all met or know someone who’s met “THAT” Agent. “That” Agent can take the excitement of buying a home and turn it into a nightmare.

I, Debbie Chase, am NOT “that” agent! I am YOUR Real Estate Agent! From first contact until your dream home is found, I am here for you. I will listen and provide the best service possible to ensure a delightful home-buying experience. With organization and care I will find your current home a buyer at a price that suits your needs. Call or email me today!! Allow me to show you your next dream home!
